How NOT to spend 4 hours

Went to the hospital finally to have my knee looked at. Left here about 4 pm. Got home a little after 8 pm. I really hate hospitals to begin with, but man, that is the longest 4 hours I can think of in my life. Jen, love her to death for taking me, and I went to the wrong place to start. I guess you can't just walk ( or in my case hobble ) down to the First care center, you need to go to emergency triage first to give them information and let them take your temp and blood pressure. Then I got to limp my way down to the First care center which is now the second care place stop. I was only in the waiting room for about 10 min. and they got me a room. It is now about 5 pm, Kat is on her way over. The room they put me in was nice too, I had a radio, TV, and reclining chair to sit in and put my leg up. Good thing too. We waited in the room for an hour and a half. Until about 6:30. The doc comes in for about 10 mins, asks a few questions, says it could be an infection inside the leg that they will do bloodwork and xrays, and walks out. Me not thinking to well at this point, I am concentrating on the xrays and how bad it might be of an infection and if they might keep me for the night that I didn't hear bloodwork for what it was. NEEDLES!! Just as bad as snakes for me. Yeah, I have piercings and tatts, but they are different. There is no to little blood involed in those. And I get something cool to show for it. The guy who comes in to take my blood must have been kinda new, and he was training a blonde who was. He tries to set everything up, drops a few things, and gives her things to hold on to because he doesn't move the kit after he took everything out of it. Finally gets the needle in me, takes out blood, and sets up an IV. As he goes to put the IV in, he fails to hold down on the plastic tip in my arm, stopping the blood from pouring out of me and all over the walls. OK, so not that bad, but he does let some blood out and said "Opps, that's not right" before putting pressure on my arm. Gee, wonder what the first clue was. The blonde comes back after a few to bring me to xray and has a wheelchair with no leg supports. This gets better. I hold my feet up so we can go down and the tech. gets me to hold my knee in uncomfortable positions to get the xrays. After the second one I can hear him asking if he did it right to the other tech. Must have been training night. So he wheels me back to the room with Kat and Jen (who I love for staying for so long with me) and goes out. It is close to 7:30 now. Jen leaves soon to get dinner and meet us at the house. Another doctor comes in as a second opinion and leaves. The regular doc comes in, give me the explaination of staying off it for a week and to see my normal doc. at Leeds medical. I get good drugs. Finally someone who knows something comes in, gives me my pills for the night, a perscription for more, explains the leg brace to me, and gives me crutches.

What a long four hours spent to learn that again I have not broken anything, just have an infection and swelling, and that I will be fine if I learn to stop pushing my body so far. Guess even Superman needs to take time off.

Poooooppppp 2, the sequel...

Terren did go poop again. Although she didn't go yesterday. I think it might be because she did not get to go out. It was kinda cold for her and windy. But the morning baths with me seem to be working. She is getting more active and is more awake. I tried to feed her again this morning, she looked at the wax worm.... she moves her head..... and....... nothing. She still has no intrest of eating when I can force things down her throat. But she is definitly looking and acting better. Her next appointment is the 4th and I think it should go well.
We get new mangement this next week. My overnight crew is leaving. Sad to see one go now, one go later, but happy the third is gone after tonight!! I just hope the next 3 are as easy going as the last ones we are losing. So big change at work. Hoping it works out.
Guess that's it for now. Thanks to everyone who wished Terren well and it is working. She thanks you all.

POOOOOPPPPP!!!!

At 4:51 this evening I would like to annouce the poop of Terren. She was outside running around, really....running, and she stopped and pooped!!! This made me soooo happy I want everyone to know that she is no longer impacted, constipated, blocked up, or plugged!! She is basking in the sun, or what is left of it now, and looks very proud of herself. Who knew shit could be so good?

Terren

Update on the stubborn girl. She is getting lazy again. The new vet is really impressing me though. They called me just to see how she was doing yesterday. I talked to the vet herself, I got confused about Terren's blood work. I thought they had to send it out, but they got it back the same day. That is why it took 2 and a half hours last Friday. So after talking to her and letting her know that Terren is still not shitting and we are force feeding her she wants to do X-rays to see what is wrong. More money spent on the little one. Sitting here this morning though, she is looking around at least. We are trying to give her 3 baths a day instead of 2. It is constantly scary for me though. Every time I get up I have to check to see if she is alive. She sits so still most of the time. The vet also mentioned that with warmer weather and real sun Terren might perk up and become more active and eat on her own. Just waiting until Friday now. Going to be another long one. Let's hope they can figure this out soon before she gets to the point that we can't spend more on her or it gets too late to save her. Just wish she would shit, it would make me soooo happy.

Winning results

First I would like to annouce that Terren shit yesterday!!! I know this seems weird to get excited about, but those of you with pet (especially reptiles) know that if the animal is sick, poop is a good sign. Especially since she was constipated for weeks. She is doing better as far as I can tell, the true test will be the check up on Friday.
And the results on the song for the show................ SEXYBACK!!
Yeah, right. Pain by 3 days grace.
Pain, without love
Pain, I can't get enough
Pain, I like it rough'
Cause I'd rather feel pain than nothing at all
You're sick of feeling down
You're not the only one
I'll take you by the hand
And I'll show you a world that you can understand
This life is filled with hurt
When happiness doesn't work
Trust me and take my hand
When the lights go out you will understand
Pain, without love
Paint, I can't get enough
Pain, I like rough
'Cause I'd rather feel pain than nothing at all
Pain, without love
Pain, I can't get enough
Pain, I like rough'
Cause I'd rather feel pain than nothing at all
Anger and agony
Are better than misery
Trust me I've got a plan
When the lights go off you will understand
Pain, without love
Pain, I can't get enough
Pain, I like rough
'Cause I'd rather feel pain than nothing at all
Pain, without love
Pain, I can't get enough
Pain, I like rough
'Cause I'd rather feel pain than nothing
Rather feel pain
I know (I know I know I know I know)
That you're wounded
You know (You know you know you know you know)
That I'm here to save you
You know (You know you know you know you know)
I'm always here for you
I know (I know I know I know I know)
That you'll thank me later
Pain, without love
Pain, can't get enough
Pain, I like rough
'Cause I'd rather feel pain than nothing at all
Pain, without love
Pain, I can't get enough
Pain, I like rough
'Cause I'd rather feel pain than nothing at all
Pain, without love
Pain, I can't get enough
Pain, I like rough
'Cause I'd rather feel pain than nothing at all
Rather feel pain than nothing at all
Rather feel pain

So that is not the song I was going to do, but I do love this song as well. And look at the lyrics, I mean, how hard can it be to learn them? Really? Now I just have to figure out how to preform them. Video time. Thanks for the help and we should have a video of the show for you that are interested.

Stubborn Lizard

Terran had a vet appointment. Her eye is bad and she has not eaten in weeks. The doctor wanted to look inside her mouth (checking for mouth rot, which tends to kill almost every reptile we have owned) and of course Terren did not want to open up. Tugging on her beard apparently gets her pissy. Her beard came full out, all black, and she HISSED! I have never heard her hiss before and have only seen the black beard once. This was a whole new Terran, one I don't want to mess with. I never knew how many sharp teeth a bearded has. Well, luckily her mouth was only pale, a sign of dehydration. No mouth rot. The doc wanted to run tests to check her liver and kidneys, wondering if an infection set in during hibernation. She explained that if something was wrong inside and had a few months to fester it could be fatal. They took blood, ran a sample of her mouth saliva, and gave her an enema to get a fecal sample. Stubborn one would not take a shit. We waited about 20 mins and then a few more in the waiting room. I was hoping to see some this morning in her cage, but noooooooo. Well, the good news is that with the mouth sample they took there is nothing wrong with her kidneys or liver. The blood sample will be sent out and maybe by Fri. when her next appointment is we will know more. The doc is thinking a parasite or it just may be the eye infection and dehydration. So lots of meds, some special bath time, and lots of love. I think her eye will go, but today she has been more active than the last 3 months combined. Thanks to Jen, without you we never would know all we do now and will learn. Love you hun. And Terran owes you big time. Maybe she will never crap on you. But until then, maybe you could pick her up so the doc can get that sample.......

Songs.......

So I have decided to come out of retirement, so to say. I never relized I was in , but everyone seems to think I was. So anyways, I am in a show on the 5th of May and I need a song. I got it down to three. Pain by Three Days Grace, Lips of an Angel by Hinder, and It's Not Over by Chris Daughtry. I was also thinking of (HELP ME) SexyBack by Justin Timberlake, but there is too much of the other dude singing and I really don't think it would go good for a show. So any help out there on which one I should do? The show is to help raise money for the float for Gay Pride in Portland. Any of the four that you like best? I know which one I lean towards, but I have about 3 days to make my mind up and start bugging Kat and Jen with continuous repetitive music. Thanks and I will let you know which one I choose with your help.
