Fear of the Dreadful Unknown

Ever notice that the things we do not know about or understand we have fears of? Are scared of? Like driving a car. The first time we get nervous, upset, and fear it. We get scared of the road suddenly. But once we learn how easy it is we no longer are scared of it. Or snakes. I have never understood how they can dislocate their jaw to eat, or move so fast going side to side. I still have a fear of them, but handling the two we have is helping get over it. Heights also scare me, because you never know what is at the bottom of the cliff. Once you go down by a much safer route, you relize there is nothing there to worry about. It's like people fearing lesbians or gays. They don't understand our lifestyle and don't ask, so they are scared and make things up. Like it is contagious. We sneeze and everyone runs.
So why is it that we get scared or fear these things? What is it that makes us fear these things? Just because we don't understand something why is it wrong? What drives us to need to know all? It is something that is impossible. Some things just don't have explainations. They just are. Like being gay. Or snakes. If you spend enough time just learning what you can, and try to accept that that we cannot understand, things become clearer. They are just ok and accepted or they are shunned and left behind. Or they could stick around as a fear for as long as we let them.
I have tried to conquer my fears and lack of knowledge. I can deal with heights, only because I know that I don't have to jump. I can be ok with snakes, even though they still move to quick for my comfort. I hope I can continue to at least handle the things I get scared of or fear.
Oh, and friends help out alot too.

Look, in the sky....

I can't remember the last thing I posted. I know I can look, but I already got to this part, so if it starts to repeat, I am sorry. Let me start with what I have gotten lately from my loving wife. Kat found the Godsmack tongue ring ( I do remember saying that) and I learned from the radio that the new album comes out in April. The tour comes soon after. Wonder if Kat would like that, there are alot ( I mean ALOT) of tits that get flashed at that concert. But back on track, she got South Park Season 2 for me!!! I will be watching more of it as soon as I get done writing this. I stayed up late to watch the first disc when I got home yesterday morning, and watched another while Kat and her sis's planned a wedding dress thing. Not sure what, wasn't paying much attention to it. Plus today she got me a Flying Superman!! He hooks into the ceiling and a fishline comes down that goes to his back and he flys in circles around our upstairs hallway. It is really cool. Plus he has a base that he can stand on. I was playing with it earlier and my cat Matrix was trying to catch it without falling off the banister. It is fun to watch the cat try to attack Superman!!
Other than that, life has been pretty uneventful. I had a long week at work, I feel sick most of the time, although I think that has something to do with the lack of sleep. I got 8 hours of almost solid sleep today and feel much better. Yeah, that is about it, work and sleep. I get a little time to talk to friends and Kat. Went to visit our Special Lady this week. She is having a rough go of it. Talked a little more than I think she planned on to Kat today while she was out of it. It's ok, we understand and all is good hun. I will be here when you need to talk.

Let's try this.

http://kevan.org/johari?name=skorp19 this is the thing Kat started. Should be interesting results.

Time

Just wanted to say I am still among the living. Barely. Work is exhausting and too much lately. Time is not something I have enough of now. I did get a GREAT vday present from my wife. It's a GODSMACK 8 gauge tongue ring. Yep, 8 gauge. I didn't think they came that big. Anyhow, it was the best present ever. Plus we got to spend the day together. We went to the movies(Final Destination 3- Talk about gore!!) and had a great time getting 3 new fish. Then we had a wonderful meal cooked by Kat and our friend Jman came over with little Dman. So it was a very good day. Back to the grind tonight. I will try to keep posted during the work week, but it is hard. Oh and by the way, Kat cleaned the house and do I feel better. I know she does too, because it has looked bad for awhile now. Thanks hun.

Happy Early Sappy Crappy Day

So we celebrated early for Valentines. Believe it or not this is the second one we have had. For those of you who know my track record, this is amazing within itself. I never have had a girlfriend, let alone my wife now, for a second holiday season. So with that present in mind for me, let me tell you what I got my wife who is crazy to put up with me this long.
I came home and put two ballons on the table. One says hugs and kisses on it. The other one if you tap it on a certain spot it sings "Your the one that I want." Under these I put a dozen differant colored roses in a vase. In front of the vase was 3 things. One was the new Glade oil scent candles that stink the house up. Vanilla and rose scented. Then there was the two pack DVDS of Wallace and Gromit "The curse of the were-rabbit" and "Gromit's tail-waggin DVD." The last item was a 7 disc(what was I thinking!!!) 10th Anniversary Collection of Xena. Plus I had dinner planned out for us. I got jumbo shells with both cottage and ricota cheese, with pizza cheese to go on top. I got sharp cheddar cheese to go with the salads I planned on making. The sauce for dinner is going to be a combo of garlic/onion and parm/ricota sauce from Ragu. I got rosemary/olive oil bread to cook with all of this. Plus for dessert I got Kat bite sized cheese cake and I got for me Oreo cream pie.
So I figure that I can set up a bath for her when she comes home tonight using the candle, cook dinner while she soaks and relaxes, then we can cuddle on the couch to watch Xena while we have dessert. Oh and the most important gift I got for her. Dice. They have cute sayings on them and what you roll is what you do.
So Kat might be mad that I got to post this before she could. But she had the computer all day today. So I beat her fair. Anyway, I hope you all have a great Sappy Day. We will be thinking of all of you that we love so dearly.

????

Just noticed something. In the commerical for Orville Redenbaucker they say that it has been around for 40 years. Yet they say they estabished in 1976. How does that make forty???? Last I knew I was only 33, not 43.

Tests

I got tired of the get to know your friends tests, the which superstar are you tests, and the surveys in general. I decided to make a test of your brain. Lets see how much we know about the stuff in our lives.
1. Do you know how butterflies taste things?
2. Which animal is the only one that cannot jump?
3. Guess which animal kills more people annually than plane crashes. Go on, guess.
4. How long would the line of the population of China be if you streched them out and walked them by you one at a time? The key here is walking them by.
5. Ok easy one. What is the smallest country in the world?
6. Do you know how long a snail can sleep?
7. Just a plain out fact. Fish get seasick. I wonder if they go up to the side of the bowl to be sick?
8. What is the rate of traffic flow in New York City in 1978? How about 1906? Which would be higher?
9. What rice is not really rice?
10. Ok, last one. We all know that "dog years" is 7 to our 1. What is it for "cat years"?

1. With their feet. And if they sweat during the summer, everything tastes bad.
2. Think big and heavy. Yep, the elephant. Disney was wrong. Oh, and they cannot fly either.
3. You will feel like a jackass when you know its a donkey. What a kick.
4. Non ending. They reproduce like bunnies.
5. The Vatican City. I never knew it was a country, the name is misleading.
6. 3 years. Now that's a nap I would like to take.
8. In 1978 with cars it was a whole 7.9 or 8 miles an hour. But in 1906 with the horses it was 11.5. Less horse-power, but more pull.
9. Wild rice. It's not that wild either. No, really, it's not.
10. When a cat is one it is like us being 18. So when they live to be 20 our time, they are more like 360 their time. And we wonder why they get lazy around 8-10.

Ok, so some of it was boring, but we all got a little more educated. And there was no fill this in and send it on to people or else your love will leave, your car will implode, and your best friend will spontaneously combuste while riding a skateboard off a skyscraper. Isn't that good news?

Enough is enough....

I get tired of posting all the bad shit at work in here. So for a change of pace let me tell you what went right. Our snack bin got totally dumped and reorganized. Not just me, mostly my nephew in law did it. It looks wonderful now and has holes all over. All the other bins got throughlly worked and labeled last night. The 8 pallets of overstock are down to 3. I opened up one steel space, with time I could have done more, but that is for a later date. The crew on grocery lately has been great, and they have taken a new pride in their job and in my heart. Overall, the backroom is pretty spotless. The dairy cooler is looking better all the time. So is frozen, and their floors are great. Perfect wall zones all over. Even chemicals is doing better with fewer complaints from the morning manager.
I got to see the old District Manager today. Kat, she said she expects you to earn your pay. I told her your overqualified and play alot and don't get in trouble now. She is happy for you though. She is much happier now too since she is not as of yet still working for WalMart. My overnight managers are happy with me, and they notice that things run smoother when I am there. I also got told I can have overtime, as long as I don't go over 48 hours. That might be tricky. I get 9.5 most nights, which comes to 47.5 with my break. But I know I won't be in trouble for the extra time I put in now.
Guess that is all for now. I get to take a bath, read a book, and go cuddle next to my wonderful wife. Life is good, I just have to remind myself of it. Plus I have great friends that I need to spend more time with and talking to. I miss you all.
